Buckingham College Nursery

The Buckingham College Nursery (formerly Pinner Day Nursery) provides a safe and nurturing environment in which  children are given opportunities to develop and grow as individuals. We strongly believe that children thrive whilst learning through play and exploration, as they develop physical and intellectual skills, social and emotional attitude and language abilities.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum (EYFS) in the Nursery. The overall aim of the EYFS is to help young children achieve the five outcomes of staying safe, being healthy, enjoying and achieving, making a positive contribution and achieving economic well being. These aims follow the principle of Every Child Matters something we take very seriously at Buckingham College Nursery.

The Buckingham College Nursery is a purpose built centre with a real family feel. There are 21 places on offer catering for children between the age of two and five. The children are split according to their age. However, we do mix at various points during the day and children are also given the choice of which room they would like to play in.

Aims

•·         To Encourage children to become more independent and feel at home in a warm, caring and secure environment;

•·         To look upon each child as an individual, taking into consideration their culture and special requirement;

•·         To be committed to a level of high quality care offering a variety of activities in order to enhance their social, emotional and cognitive development;

•·         To take into account the views of parents and making them feel welcome at all times;

•·         To monitor the development of the children in our care, sharing information with parents on a daily basis;

•·         To ensure staff are continually developing their skills through regular professional training.
