Music has a particularly high profile at the Preparatory School due to a policy which promotes a musical awareness and encourages pupils to learn a musical instrument at a very early age. As a result, pupils as young as five play in the forty-strong school orchestra and, currently, over 70 pupils play one or more of the eight orchestral instruments on offer.
 
One of the highlights of the academic year is the School Concert when pupils have the opportunity of performing in front of parents and local dignitaries. The School Choir and ensembles also visit local hospices and residential homes.
 
Such is the strength of Music at the Preparatory School that Music Scholarships to prestigious Independent Schools in the locality are now a regular occurrence.
