The Buckingham Prep Nursery is coeducational and comprises two rooms, the Caterpillar Room and the Butterfly Room, with its wooden climbing structure and secure, enclosed play area. The nursery caters for both boys and girls from the age of 2. As it is situated on the same site as Buckingham Preparatory School, the children in the Nursery have access to the school’s facilities and attend school assemblies and events throughout the year.
The numbers are small (no more than 35 at any one time) which means that all the children benefit from a warm and friendly environment which that entails.
The Nursery follows the Early Years Foundation Stage with its 7 Areas of Learning. The Nursery Manager, Deputy Manager and Nursery Practioners are always on hand to ensure that a child’s progress through these areas are both supported and continually monitored.
The Nursery sessions are as follows:
Session Start Finish
Morning 8.00 am 1.00 pm
Afternoon 1.00 pm 6.00 pm
All Day 8.00 am 6.00 pm
These sessions run on a daily basis, even through the school holidays. Hot meals and drinks are prepared on the premises by the staff of Connect Catering on a daily basis (all inclusive of fees).
Many of our boys transfer through to the Prep School and in order to do this parents should submit their sons for an assessment in early November prior to their entry.
