House of Commons Debate

House of Commons Debate, 15th May 2018: “ Should the voting age be lowered to twelve?”

A packed house saw a lively debate, chaired by Ace Parmer (Buck Prep Party) in which the lowering of the national voting age was put forward.

En route to the debate, the Buck Prep Party boys enjoyed guided visits to the Lords Chamber and the Queen’s Robing Room before taking their seat in the Commons.

Following the debate, in preparation for the proposed change of voting age, the boys attended a workshop on converting votes into law statutes, both in terms of scripting and motioning.

Transport to and from the Commons was provided by London Transport and the motion that “ David Blunkett’s dog is really cute” was carried unanimously on the route home.
