On Wednesday 27th February, Year 6 visited John Lyon School to watch the dress rehearsal of the Lower School production of Emil and the Detectives.
Emil and the Detectives is based on the classic novel written in 1928 by Erich Kastner, and tells the story of Emil Tischbein, a young boy from a small town who, on his way to the busy city of Berlin, is robbed by a mysterious stranger on the train. Emil thinks he has lost everything but as he sets off to track down the thief he discovers that he’s not alone after all. In a tale full of danger and surprises, Emil depends on his new detective friends to uncover the truth. The production featured John Lyon boys from years seven, eight and nine.
