Year 1 make a visit to the Post Office

Posted: 1st May 2018

Year One have been following the news each week in class on Espresso News.  They were very excited to learn of the arrival of the new baby Prince called Louis Arthur Charles.  The boyswere then told that when Princess Charlotte was born in May 2015 Year One made a card, posted it to the palace and got a reply!  Lishane said ‘This is an inspiration!’  They decided to make their own card for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge to deliver to Kensington Palace.  Also, as there is a Royal Wedding this month, Mrs Stoneman decided the boys could make a second card to congratulate Prince Harry and Meghan Markle on their forthcoming marriage.  The boys were interested to see that both cards would be sent to Kensington Palace and debated how big it might be.   On Tuesday 1st May, they went on a walk to Rayner’s Lane Post Office to post their cards.  Aditya explained to the lady behind the counter who the cards were for and where they were going.  Different boys asked her questions, paid for the stamps and stuck them on the envelopes.  Then Samarth and Ayush posted the cards in the letterbox.  Will Year One get a reply from the palace this time?  Only time will tell…..so watch this space!!
