Space and Astronomy

Year 5’s trip to the Science Museum was fitting for the momentous end to a comprehensive study of  the topic ‘Space and Astronomy’. The trip focused on space and all the topics that we had studied so far. The plan was to see the space exhibit, and watch a 3D IMAX film about the Hubble Telescope in high orbit of Earth. Specifically the film dealt with how astronauts fixed crucial parts in the telescope so that it could function properly. The film was simply out of this world. The third and final purpose of the visit focused on the Wonder Lab, which was literally a scientific playground. There was so much to see and do. The boys had a wonderful time and the day was a resounding success!
