On Wednesday 6th November, Year 1 went on a nature walk to Yeading Walk on Rayners Lane. The walk was inspired by our current Literacy topic about ‘Sam’s Nature Diary’. We have read about different animals and plants in different habitats by seeing what Sam wrote in his diary. Our walk will be used to inspire our own personal diary entries. We set off with a checklist of things to look out for at this time of the year. We had to make sure that we walked quietly and kept our voices low so that we did not scare off the living creatures. We were very lucky that we were able to find worms, centipedes, slugs, pigeons, squirrels and a very friendly robin. We also found colourful leaves, sticks and lots of muddy puddles. We played ‘Pooh Sticks’ with leaves in the stream. Everyone had a lovely time in the fresh air!
