Year 3 meet the Egyptians at The British Museum

Posted: 14th February 2020

On Monday 3rd February 2020, Year 3 enjoyed a day out at the British Museum. The class set off early from school in order to get there in time for a workshop that revolved around the process of mummification. It was simply brilliant to see how technology and current MRI machines have allowed archaeologists and historians to view clearly inside the wrapped mummy without disturbing it, thus preserving the body and keeping it intact.

The class had a wonderful time going on a history treasure hunt in the Egyptian gallery spaces. They broke into groups and explored the gallery, paying close attention to not only the mummies, but artefacts such as pots, jewellery and statues. It was so interesting! Well done Year 3 on a successful trip to Central London and the British Museum.
