Armistice Day

Posted: 14th November 2023

Last Friday pupils at Buckingham Preparatory School gathered for a special Armistice assembly from Mr Doyle. They discussed the importance of remembrance and the people who have given their lives to protect us. As a school we discussed the meaning of the word “protect” and how this word is reflected in our every day lives. The boys were also extremely lucky to share in a part of history, as Mr Doyle shared a very personal historical artefact with the school. The boys were able to look at a propeller from an actual RAF plane, which also represented the names of four former Buckingham Prep pupils who went on to serve their country during World War 2. This gave the boys time to reflect on the lives of BPS pupils who came before them, but also in how they can help change the world and protect those around them.
