Hockey Match Wins & Dinosaur Adventures

Posted: 13th January 2023

Our first full week at school of 2023 has been fantastic. The students have consistently been putting in maximum effort and enthusiasm in their lessons. We are particularly proud of our U11 hockey teams who won two out of three of their matches in their tournament yesterday. Mr Evans said that the quality of play was something he has not seen in a long time at BPS and proves that hard work and practice certainly pay off!

Pre-School have improved so much since returning, their reading levels have gone up considerably and Miss Kelly is very proud of them all. They have been on a series of dinosaur learning adventures and it has certainly sparked a great enthusiasm in all of their lessons. Reception have been on their best behaviour so far this term, they have been calm, hard working and kind to one another, they showed particular empathy and maturity in their mindfulness lesson. Year 1 have also settled in very well and have been fully engaged in all of their lessons but particularly in their Science lesson where they got to make slime! Year 2 have been supporting their new teacher with settling in, they have been helpful, kind and hardworking. Year 3 impressed Miss Havers with their incredible developments in their graphic design skills while designing and illustrating work for their new project. Year 4 have been on an acting extravaganza, in all of their lessons there has been an element of performance to assist with their retention of knowledge. Year 5 have been working considerably hard in the lead up to their 11+ they have proven to be mature and engaged and Ms Bourne has high hopes for them as a class. Year 6 have been off interviewing at various schools and have conducted themselves very maturely while catching up on work and ensuring to keep on top of all of their learning.

We have been very proud of the boys this week, let’s keep up the fantastic work!
