Post for Year 2!

Posted: 9th May 2025

This week Year 2 have visited The Postal Museum and have discovered how the post moved under London since the 19th century. The children went on the trains that transported the mail 40 metres underneath the ground and explored the role of Science in making the post travel faster over the years. The boys took part in a hands-on experiment to test the suitability of different materials to build underground tunnels and learned how push and pull forces helped the Mail Rail trains since their invention more than 100 years ago. They also tested the impact of pneumatic forces when delivering parcels and the suitability of different materials to conduct electricity and power the trains. A fantastic day full of learning and fun!
