At Buckingham Preparatory School, we believe in nurturing well-rounded individuals, and a key part of this is our buddy program. Our Year 6 boys proudly take on the responsibility of being a “buddy” to children in either Reception or Preschool. This initiative is designed to build confidence in our older students as they take on a leadership role, strengthen our school community through positive interactions, and foster empathy and responsibility across different age groups.
Witnessing the Year 6 boys interact with their younger buddies is truly rewarding. Whether they’re helping with an activity, reading a story, or simply offering a friendly face, these interactions build bridges within our school. This program not only benefits our younger children by providing them with positive role models but also empowers our Year 6 students, helping them develop valuable leadership skills and a sense of community. We are incredibly proud of the way our boys embrace this role, contributing to a nurturing and supportive environment for all.
