Boys from Years 1 to 6 at Buckingham Preparatory School recently took part in their end-of-year Judo grading, showcasing impressive skill, discipline and determination in front of instructors and peers.
Pupils who are members of the school’s popular Judo Club demonstrated a range of techniques and took part in short bouts as part of the assessment process. The event, which followed the guidelines of the British Judo Association, provided the opportunity for boys to earn official gradings in recognition of their progress and commitment to the sport.
The session was a wonderful celebration of the effort the boys have put into their training throughout the year. Each pupil performed with focus and respect — key values in Judo — and many were successful in advancing to their next belt. It was also an opportunity for younger boys to be inspired by their older peers, as they watched more advanced combinations and well-executed throws.
At Buckingham Preparatory School, co-curricular activities like Judo play an important role in the wider development of our pupils. They help to build confidence, self-control, resilience and teamwork — qualities that are valued both on and off the mat.
Whether boys are in the classroom, on the sports field or taking part in specialist clubs, we are proud to offer a broad and enriching experience for every child.
