This week, pupils from Year 2 to Year 6 at Buckingham Preparatory School took part in the UK Bebras Challenge, an exciting online competition that introduces children to the world of computational thinking.
Designed to develop logical reasoning, problem-solving, and creative thinking skills, the Bebras Challenge encourages pupils to tackle a series of fun, age-appropriate puzzles within 45 minutes. It’s part of a global initiative that saw over 3 million students from more than 80 countries take part last year — and our boys were proud to join them!
Throughout the challenge, every boy demonstrated fantastic focus, determination, and enthusiasm, embracing each problem with curiosity and persistence. Their reflections captured the spirit of the event perfectly, describing it as: “brain stretching,” “difficult,” “fun,” “challenging,” “amazing,” and “exciting.”
At Buckingham Prep, we believe in nurturing a love of learning through engaging opportunities like this — experiences that inspire our pupils to think critically, persevere through challenges, and take pride in their achievements.
Well done to all our boys for representing the school so brilliantly in this worldwide challenge!
