YEAR 6 HAVE A GREAT TIME IN WALES

Posted: 30th May 2017

On Monday 8th May, Year 6 arrived at school as the sun began to rise for the week’s residential trip to Plas Menai in North Wales. After quite a stressful journey and lots of different trains we finally arrived at the centre, where the sun was shining and the atmosphere was definitely more chilled!! Within an hour of arriving the boys were ready for their first activity on the water which was canoeing down the Menai Strait, followed by a big swim in a very cold sea! It really was the most amazing start to a fantastic week.

Throughout the week the boys worked together to take part in orienteering, the egg-drop challenge, stand-up paddle boarding, mountain biking and kayaking. The highlight of the week was the gorge walk up in the Welsh mountains. The day was amazing and the boys gathered all their strength and courage to climb the freezing waterfalls and slippery rocks of the treacherous Afon Dhu gorge. They arrived home aching and exhausted but proud of all they had achieved.

It was an amazing week and the boys enjoyed every second of their five day fun-filled trip. It really was the place where memories were made in the last part of their time at BPS.
