Our Reception boys enjoyed an exciting educational trip to Headstone Manor, where they explored what life in Harrow was like through the ages. The visit brought their classroom learning to life, helping them understand how homes, clothes, and daily life have changed over time.
As part of the trip, the boys loved dressing up in historical costumes, experiencing first-hand how clothing and fashion have evolved. This creative activity helped them connect with the past in a fun and memorable way.
The highlight of the day was taking part in a range of hands-on learning experiences, including building, map-making, and object exploration. These activities encouraged teamwork, curiosity, and problem-solving — key skills in our Reception curriculum.
Visiting Headstone Manor was a fantastic way for our youngest pupils to learn more about their local community and its fascinating history. The trip sparked plenty of excitement and conversation back in the classroom, deepening their understanding of Harrow’s heritage and helping them see how people lived, worked, and played long ago.
