Year 3 Visit Neasden Temple

Posted: 15th January 2026

Pupils in Year 3 at Buckingham Preparatory School, enjoyed a fascinating visit to the Neasden Hindu Temple this week as part of their Religious Studies curriculum and wider cultural learning.

The boys discovered the temple’s remarkable history, gaining insight into how this extraordinary building was planned, crafted and constructed. As part of their exploration of world religions, pupils learned about Hindu worship and took part in the peaceful Arti ceremony, giving them time to pause, reflect and experience a moment of mindfulness beyond the classroom.

The trip continued with a tour of the Understanding Hinduism exhibition, where the children explored core beliefs, traditions and values within the Hindu faith. The group were particularly inspired by the intricate carvings, craftsmanship and detailed architecture, a highlight of one of London’s most significant cultural sites.

Staff noted how thoughtfully the boys engaged with the day, asking respectful questions and demonstrating curiosity and maturity throughout. Despite slightly wet weather, the visit proved enjoyable and enriching for everyone involved.

Year 3 returned to school inspired and eager to share what they had learned, strengthening their Religious Studies work and contributing to the broad, balanced education offered at our prep school in Pinner. Experiences like this continue to support pupils in understanding the world around them and celebrating diversity within our wider community.
